We must focus on an issue that is significant. We can do this in several ways and one of them is through a short, focused, message. An “elevator speech” is a message intended to spur decision makers to action. An elevator speech must be short, specific, concise, evidence-based and persuasive. Think of an issue that you are passionate about and where some action is needed to impact change to improve a patient need or perhaps a student need. Then think of who your audience is. Now think of your message.
